A guide is not a safety device

Acrux describes a walk; it does not certify it. Tracks, huts, distances and terrain are drawn from our own measurements, park authorities' published figures and open data of varying age. Conditions change, tracks close, water fails and weather kills in summer. The decision to walk, and every decision on the walk, is yours. Carry a map, a compass, warm layers and a tent, and check the park authority's current notices before you go.

Bookings and permits

Several trails require a booking, pass or permit from the relevant park authority. Acrux apps are independent guides and are not affiliated with any park authority. Nothing here grants access to anywhere.

The example map on this site

The map on the home page is a demonstration. It is not the app, is not kept current, and must not be used for navigation.
